Forest of Dean Amateur Radio Group meet every Tuesday evening, at Ruardean Sports & Social Club at 19:30 hours. We have a fantastic location, we are 951 feet above sea level on top of Ruardean Hill. Resignation of Mike Buckland
Message from Mike:
Mike Buckland; it is with regret, i would like you all to know that i have to resign from the position of chairman from FODARG. This is due to health issues and other curcumstances i wish the club all the very best for the future and will come along as and when i can.

_CASHOTA & Delta Loops
_FODARG will be having a talk on CASHOTA (Castles & Stately Homes on the air), along with Talk on Delta Loops made by Chris (M0DOL) in the New Year.
Chris will be travelling down from Northampton to come and talk to us, please come and support us.
Chris (M0DOL) will also be operating with his Delta Loops, from Pan Tod Beacon in the afternoon. Please come along and say hello before the meeting, i am sure Chris will be glad to see you all.

FODARG Membership Fees for 2012
Membership Fees are due from 1st December 2011 for the next 12 months, the costs are as follows.
Membership of FODARG = £5.00 per year
Members are also required to join Ruardean Sports & Social Club, the cost of this is as below.
Single Membership = £5.00 and joint Membership = £9.00
Membership of Ruardean Sports & Social Club is FREE for over 65's.

Design the FODARG 2012 QSL Card
We are looking for members to come up with a design for the Forest of Dean Amateur Radio Group 2012 QSL Card. Please submit all designs in jpg, gif or png format to admin@fodarg.org.
We aim to be very active in 2012 with Cashota, SOTA and other events, so we need a good QSL.
The final design will be picked by the members at the last meeting in December & printed for use by the group for competitions and events during 2012, it will also be noted on the card who the design is by, the size needs to be 6" x 4".

Adrian (2E0SDR) has booked a four day DXpedition to Flat Holm Island on 27th July till 30th 2012.The cost are £85.00 per person Self Catering in the Farmhouse or £60.00 per person Camping in the paddock.

Members and Non Members are welcome, the Farmhouse accommodates 25 people and has all necessary facilities, it is self catering. Anybody camping will be expected to provide their own camping equipment.

2012 DXPedition
At the meeting of 18th October 2011. It was decided that their was enough interest within the group to go ahead with the idea proposed by Adrian (2E0SDR) to arrange a DXPedition to Flat Holm Island in July 2012. 24th December 2011
It has been decided to cancel all meetings after Christmas until 7th February 2012. This is due to the quietest part of the year being January. We look forward to getting full steam ahead in Febrary and back to normal. 29th November 2011 Table Top Sale We would like to thank all who attended the Table Top Sale. It was a good fund radiser for FODARG, and a good night was had by all. The event raised about £100 for group funds, THANK YOU ALL. 28th Nov 2011 Weston super Mare Radio Society have expressed a wish to join FODARG on the DXPedition to Flat Holm Island. The more the merrier, i say, you are very welcome. |
